2nd Year Webelos Arrow of Light Award (Highest award in Cub Scouting)
Age Requirements: In the Fifth Grade or 11 years old
Prerequisites:
Earn Bobcat and Webelos Rank
Requirements:
Be active in your Webelos den for at least 6 months since completing the fourth grade, or at least 6 months since becoming 10 yrs. old, and earn the Webelos Rank
Show knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout:
Learn the Boy Scout Oath and Boy Scout Law and explain each in your own words
Give and explain the Boy Scout motto, slogan, sign, salute, and handshake
Understand the significance of the First Class Badge, and describe its parts
Tell how a Boy Scout uniform is different from a Webelos Scout uniform
Tie a joining knot (Square Knot)
Earn 5 more activity badges in addition to the 3 earned for the Webelos Rank
Fitness (already earned for Webelos Rank)
Citizen
Readyman
One from the Outdoor Group
One from the Mental Skills Group
One from the Technology Group
Two more of your choice
With your Webelos Den, visit at least:
One Boy Scout Troop Meeting
One Boy Scout Outdoor Activity
Participate in at least one Webelos overnight campout or day hike
After completing the above:
Arrange to visit a meeting of a Boy Scout Troop you think you may like to join
Have a conference with the Scoutmaster
Turn in an application to become a Boy Scout
(Applications may not be processed until the Arrow of Light is received)
